Language Distinction?

Postby random.johnnyh » Tue Jul 12, 2011 11:55 am

I didn't see this posted anywhere, so here's my question:
Which languages are considered distinct when calculating score?
For example, C and C++ definitely should not be considered distinct, but what about objective C and C?

Actually we consider some languages as the same language not because they are the same but because we cannot distinguish between them.

For Objective C/C++ vs C/C++, the GNU compiler will gladly compile any C++ with the Objective C++ compiler, so for that reason we cannot distinguish them unfortunately. Otherwise we would obviously distinguish them.

If anyone has a suggestion on how to distinguish them on Linux, we'd be interested about it.
