Windows 8 Online App-a-thon

It was really nice to see that the site was active again! But the surprise comes when I saw for what it returns... and then the sadness comes when I saw for who it returns...

Code: Select all
To be eligible for prizes, entries must be submitted by
· Individual participants who are  legal resident of the 50 Unites States
(including the District of Columbia), and are 18 years or older; or
· Teams which have at least one member who is legal resident of the 50
Unites States (including the District of Columbia), and are 18 years or older.

Americans, you are in luck, you belong to the only country in the world that doesn't understand what is globalization.

Hi Hawkin,

I totally understand your feelings. What happened was the hackathon is sponsored by the Western US branch of Microsoft. Due to the complexity of legalities involved, the present terms are the best we can negotiate for this hackathon.

However, you can form teams to take part in the hackathon. As long as there is one US resident in the team, you are eligible for prizes. If you have an idea and are interested, don't let this little issue stop you from the fun.

The size of a team would be 2 - 4 members. Besides coders, you can recruit UI designers to your team. We would release the team-forming feature later this week. We have created a Facebook page and Facebook group where participants can meet others. Of course, our forum here is a good place to start too.

Who knows? The enthusiasm of worldwide participants may change Microsoft's mind and extend the hackathon globally.
